Lucy C. Hall, age 89, of Largo, Florida and formerly of Rossford, Ohio passed away on July 14, 2012. She was born September 11, 1922 to John and Balbina Cwiklewski. She graduated from Burnham High School in 1940 and was unable to find steady work. In 1943 she proudly entered into the WAVE, a WWII division of the US Navy devoted entirely to women. While a WAVE she specialized in techniques of Life Saving and would teach these techniques to Air Force Cadets. After being promoted she was moved to the Washington D.C. Casualty Department where she would sort through personal effects of deceased servicemen. She was honorably discharged in 1946 and went to work for the Baltimore and Ohio RR (CSX). Lucy married her husband Herbert J. Hall in 1947. She and her husband were members of St. Cyril and Methodius Church in Rossford and the Catholic War Veterans.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; sisters, Clara (George) Schultz, Tillie (Ray) Fall, Ann (Clair) Woods and Rose (Louis) Eisel; brothers, Leon (Nancy), Walter (Lucille) and Lowee (Margaret) Cwiklewski.
Surviving are her sister in-laws, Dorothy (Glen) Archambo and Jeanette Hall. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, OH 43616 on Saturday, July 21, 2012 beginning at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM with Rev. Mark Herzog officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
